I installed firefox browser works fine, however I now have a listing of just about all my programs on the left side of the recycle bin, if you click on my computer or any other program it goes directly into the bin right side. Is this listing suppose to be there? If not how do I get rid of it. I certainly don't want to loose any of my programs. And I don't understand why any thing concerning programs is in the recycle bin. Second- should I install norton on the firefox browser? Thank you Christene

Hi Christene, did this list replace your normal Windows 7 desktop?

Do you recall where you downloaded Firefox from?

Some sites bundle Firefox up into their own installer with other utilities that we wouldn't know about. Try the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program click the "Installed on" column heading to bring the most recently installed programs to the top, and see whether anything new got added at the same time as Firefox. That should help in tracking down what's going on.

Regarding Norton, did Firefox discover that you have it and ask whether you want to activate the Norton addons for Firefox? I think Norton is safe. If you discover that it interferes with your browsing, those addons are easy to disable later.

this programs list is folders with the programs in them and it is inside the recycle bin on the left hand side has desktop, favorites recent places, documents, music, pictures, videos, computer, network libraires, homegroup, documents and etc.. And if any of the folders are clicked they go over to the right side of the recycle bin and could easily be deleted. I don't understand why any of this is in the recycle bin, does not give the option to restore any of the folders or programs. I just wondered if I need to use Norton with firefox. Thanks hope you can figure out a solution. Christene

You should be running a Security Suite or Anti-Virus program, but it doesn't have to be Norton. Both Avast and Avira work quite well with Firefox, among other choices out there.

You didn't answer Jefferson as to where you downloaded Firefox from, like which website. Did you download Firefox directly from Mozilla?

http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/ or http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

Can you close the Recycle Bin window and get back to your desktop? I don't know why that opened, but unless it keeps re-opening itself, I wouldn't feel the need to take any drastic action.

What kind of files are that?

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

firefox was downloaded from mozilla, the files are favorites, desktop, documents, music, pictures, network, libraries, home group computer network and etc. I do not have a problem with the desktop, it is just that all the files are in the left side of recycle and some one could easily delete all of them and then I would have very big problems. I already have norton on my pc so I will add it on to firefos. Thanks hope some can figure out why these files are showing up in the recycle bin.
