It is possible that there is a problem with the formhistory.sqlite file that stores the "Saved Form" data.

Try to rename or delete formhistory.sqlite and other possible formhistory.* files like formhistory.sqlite-journal and formhistory.sqlite-corrupt in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Thanks for the reply cor-el. File was there and I deleted it. Maybe I'm wrong. If you go to (on my computer) yahoo or google news page highlight anything, copy it, paste it in search box and then just change your mind and exit firefox, or conduct your search and then exit firefox, count to ten even, go back in put cursor in search box right click and there is the last thing you copied. I would think that this would be deleted with the history . cookies cache etc. I deleted file and tried again and "problem: still exists. Am I wrong in my thinking? Thanks

Note that Google can keep a history in case you are logged on to your Google account.
Also note that Firefox may store data entered in a form in the sessionstore.js file if you exit Firefox without closing open tabs.

I just use google as a search engine.I don't login. I use yahoo mainly, and I don't use tab browsing. Thanks. Try it: go to a generic yahoo webpage highlight something. ( I just highlighted the word Georgia out of a sentence). copy it. paste it in search box. search or don't search. exit mozilla or firefox . (make sure options are set to delete everything upon exit) go back in and let me know what you get.
