I've read the original query from romanroad (4/23/24) and the replies, which related to gmail. I have the same problem but with a slightly different set-up, which those replies don't cover. My query relates to Thunderbird 128.5.1esr (64-bit) using IMAP to link with Outlook emails. (Folders are Archive, Deleted (with subfolder POP), Drafts, INBOX, Junk, Notes, Outbox and Sent [as well as 3 personal folders].) Both Outbox and Sent were checked. I'm searching for a possiblity to assign a task to a user, like it is possible for an event. According to RFC 5545 this should be possible for VTODO however in the GUI the "Attendee" field is missing. Is this an intended situation?

Some customized search criteria work as expected, e.g. Content-Type, Message-ID, In-Reply-To, ...

Some not: Content-Transfer-Encoding, Content-Disposition

Some may appear more than once, e.g. Content-Type.

Searching for contents of such criteria / tags yields no results.

How to customize search for these criteria properly?

Witam, mam problem z pocztą wychodzącą Thunderbird. Mam 3 konta wp.pl, identyczne ustawienia trzech kont, a tylko z jednego nie chce wysyłać (maniakafuraka@wp.pl), i cały czas prosi o hasło. Dwa pozostałe adresy funkcjonują bez zarzutów. Robiłem juz wszystko co opisane jest w temacie, resetowałem hasło, narzędzie do rozwiązywania problemów itd. w załączniku zrzuty dotyczącetego problemu. Hi I am having an issue with getting new contacts to add to a email group. It was working just fine and then, I couldn't add anymore new contacts. What is going on and how do I fix it? Sue

I opened an e-mail that was on the inbox, and when I wanted to delete that e-mail up came a message that if I deleted the message all linked or connected e-mails will be deleted (may not be exact terminology). I later found that this is what comes up if an e-mail in the trash folder is deleted, but the one involved was not in the trash, but in the Inbox. I was unable to do anything to get away from the message by clicking cancel or close. When I finally clicked on the delete button it deleted all of the unread messages that were in the Inbox. I tried several things, restarting Thunderbird, restarting the computer (a rebuilt HP device with no previous problems) to no avail. Do you have an explanation?

Change request. Hi, With Thunderbird for Windows I can free-type a From: address that is different from the account email address, and I would like to do this on the Android version too. For the avoidance of doubt, I don't want to use another account's email address, I want to free-type whatever I choose.

For example Yahoo allows me to create up to 500 email aliases in the form alias-anyword@yahoo.com

As this feature has always been available on the desktop version, is it something you could incorporate on Android?

I have not found a way to print an email from Thunderbird for Android. There are several occasions when that is important for me. Now I have to leave Thunderbird and log into a web client to be able to print a copy of an email.

I have always found being able to archive messages in thunderbird very useful whether by year or to a specifically created folder, eg " committee business".

  I am finding this impossible in thunderbird for android. How do I create specific new folders / archives. I am sorry if I am missing something obvious. Thank you for your help

Is there any way to get Thunderbird to show ICS files? Right now it just shows the contents as unusable trash in the email body.

Before anyone says it, toggling 'Display attachments inline' doesn't do anything. Enabling a calendar in Thunderbird allows the 'accept' etc buttons, but then I have to deal with the headache of a calendar in Thunderbird and still doesn't show the ICS file so I can use it with my actual calendar app.

I am having problems with Thunderbird not downloading all messages from my icloud account.

It has only download back to November 2024 but I have emails back to 2012. (I have 10000+ emails as I keep them all as an effective records database.

I have adjusted the Thunderbird settings to include all emails of any size and date and set the number of emails to all. My settings are the same as my desktop Thunderbird.

I am running the latest version 8.2.

Does anyone have a solution?

I use an extension called FiltaQuilla that allowed me to create a filter like so: Folder name is Joe Blow Age in days is >30 Move message to Joe Blow in Local Folders

This allowed me to move older messages to an equivalent folder in Local Folders to keep from using up IMAP space. At some point, this silently stopped working. Now, nothing happens when I run my filters on the IMAP folders. The >30 day old emails remain in that folder.

I'm guessing it's an issue with FiltaQuilla, and probably needs to be asked of them. But that brings up a new question: has this ability been integrated into Thunderbird recently? Is there another way I can do this without an extension?

Hello, We have problem with sending and receiving e-mails. Sometimes Thunderbird just stops receiving e-mails. We can send messages but they can be saved only in local folder. In browser e-mails arrive and we can send them without any problems so it has to be some problem with Thunderbird. We were trying a lot of solutions, but only one works - creating new profile. It is very time-consuming solution, because we have to copy all e-mails, contacts, user settings, etc and we have to create a new profile couple times in a month... We were trying to off our antyvirus, forget password, etc. Probably there is some problem with certificates, but we do not know how to fix it. We use IMAP. Let me know what we can do to solve this problem, because creating new profiles is too tiring... :(

Thunderbird Notifications for just my Inbox

I have a single Outlook email set up to route mail to folders and only mail from my contacts to the Inbox.

It's a good setup. I check folders when I feel like it. Junk much less. The inbox when it arrives.

I want Thunderbird to only notify for mail to my Inbox.

There does not appear to be a way.

I did try the NTFNTF add-on. It looks cool and has check boxes, but does nothing. I'm running the latest Thunderbird Version 128.6.1esr

For now, and perhaps forever, I just let my phone alert me. It only does inbox (the normal).

Using Thunderbirds junk filters is not an option for normal people who check and receive mail with more than just the one device!

So, is there something I missed or an add-on that I missed (and works for this version) ?

I have lots of folders in Thunderbird; when I move an email to a folder, the 'focus' moves with the email to that folder. I then have to scroll back up to the Inbox and click to see the inbox again. Can this behaviour be changed so that after dropping the file off, the focus returns directly to the inbox, saying a bunch of keystrokes? Cheers

Program keeps crashing on startup. This has been happening for a week or so but it would load second time. Now won't load up at all. I have reinstalled but to no avail

Thunderbird is not receiving new emails today for my primary account: hal@halglatzer.com There is no problem with my host (Network Solutions) because I can retrieve emails via mail.halglatzer.com Windows updated last night - could that be the problem?
