I am moving from Ubuntu to Windows 10, and is trying to bring my email archive with me.

I copy the full folder xldkjfdsklj.default (it is Another cryptic name) and moves it to the Windows computer. Then I go into Tools -->"import" email in Thunderbird on Windows, but I can only chose to import Outlook files. How do I import a Thunderbird file from Ubuntu into Windows.

Appreciate any help/input

You don't need to import anything. Just follow these instructions. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_profile_folder_-_Thunderbird#Create_a_new_profile_and_copy_the_old_one_over_it

If you already have created a new profile on the Win10 computer you can start with item 4. Note, a profile is created automatically, if Thunderbird doesn't find one.

After some struggle to remember how to run the terminal window in the PC world, this worked perfectly fine, I got all emails and settings migrated smoothly. Big THANK YOU.'
