I need to use Firefox for an application but I need screenpops to open in Chrome automatically. Is there a plug-in or add-on for this?
We are currently using two applications. Cisco Finesse which we have to use in Firefox and our own in-house portal with was designed in Chrome. From Finesse we have automatic screenpops that we use from our portal. When we use Finesse in Chrome the screenpops work but Finesse doesn't run efficiently. There are errors etc. When we run Finesse in Firefox it works great but our screenpops don't work. We need to use Firefox but have our automatic screenpops come up in Chrome. I don't see an add-on that does this automatically. Is there a way we can make this work?

Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See this article for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
- Go to this Adobe Flash Player Help page.
- Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
- Click on Settings in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
- Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel.
The image "fpSettings1.PNG" does not exist.
- Remove the check mark from Enable hardware acceleration.
- Click Close to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
- Restart Firefox.

Type about:preferences#content<enter> in the address bar. Look for Block pop-up windows, to its far right, press the Exceptions button.
The situation is I need that screenpop/pop-up to open in Chrome and not in Firefox.
I see. Are these opened with a web link? And Firefox your default web?
No not via a web link. Via Cisco Finesse this is done automatically. When one of our agents is connected to a customer a screenpop comes up with the customers information. The screenpop comes from our internal application that is designed to work with Chrome.
I am not sure if Firefox is the default browser for every agent.
At first glance none of the existing extensions to open a link in Chrome seem to apply to an automatically generated new window. The Open in IE extension has an option to automatically links to pages in a specified domain in IE and it lets you override the path to IE so you can replace it with the path to Chrome. The domain intercept worked for me with some web links in a quick test, but I don't know whether it can intercept the automatic popup window. If not, perhaps the author can add it?

If no window launches at all, presumably you've already tried turning off the built-in popup blocker for the Finesse site. If not, you can use the Permissions panel of the Page Info dialog. You can call that up using any of these:
- right-click a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Permissions
- (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Permissions
- click the padlock or globe icon to the left of the site address > More Information > Permissions
Scroll down to Open Pop-up Windows, uncheck Use default and click the Allow bubble.
Then you can close the dialog.
If that was already allowed (or you have disabled the pop-up blocker), have you ruled out extensions as a possible culprit? One way is to test in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
and OK the restart.
Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

If extensions are not the issue, I'd suggest looking at the Browser Console for any error messages around the time the screenpop is supposed to appear. You can open that using Ctrl+Shift+j or the Developer menu. It tends to get cluttered, so clicking its Clear button before starting a new case might be helpful.
