Hi
I have browsed all the help articles I can find, but I am still having a lot of problems migrating from Mac Mail to Thunderbird
Here are some of the things I need to do, that I am stuck with: import my mail folders from Mac Mail so they show up in Thunderbird, and I can go back and find old mail import all the e mail addresses that were previously autofilling in mail allow thunderbord to recognize the addresses in my Contact app and guidance about what else I can do
I consider this a valuable service, and I'd like to pay someone to help me, using shared screen on Skype

re :import my mail folders from Mac Mail
Have you tried this: In Mail.app EITHER Select e-mail messages you wish to save as .mbox file. (you can use Command+A to export the whole folder) Go to the File menu and select Save As… menu item mbox file Enter the filename for your .mbox file Select the target place eg: folder on desktop, where you want to save the .mbox file OR Save emails as .eml format in a folder on the desktop.
then in thunderbird.
download this addon tool:
How to Install Add-on Extension: After downloading addon extension *.xpi file to desktop or downloads folder.
In Thunderbird. I'm presuming you have created a mail account. 'Tools' > 'Add-ons' or 'Menu icon' > 'Add-ons'
- Click on gear wheel icon and select 'Install Add-on From File'.
- Locate the *.xpi file you downloaded and click on 'Open'.
- You may need to restart Thunderbird when prompted.
To import mbox file into 'Local Folders': Right click on 'Local folders' account select 'ImportExporttool' > 'Import mbox file' select: 'Import directly one or more mbox files' clickon OK Select the location of the mbox file and click on Open.
To import .eml files. create a folder in 'Local folders' with suitable name. right click on that folder Select: 'importExporttools' > 'Import all Messages from a directory' >'just from the directory' select the folder containing .eml files Select folder containing .eml files and click on 'Select folder'
re : 'Contacts'
In Thunderbird confirm you have done this: Go to System Preferences -> Security & Privacy. You'll find a check box where you have to allow Thunderbird to access "Contacts".
File > select 'Use Mac OSX Address Book'

Thanks for getting back to me, Toad-Hall. Re: addresses: Thank you. It worked. The mbox thing seems complex, I will try it...
