Since installing Firefox version 44 when ever I open Firefox it opens a newtab blank page instead of my homepage, I tried un-installing and re-installing no joy, I have checked that my homepage is set correctly in both about:config and settings This has only started happening since the latest update, in happens on another PC and Laptop that I have

Thanks Ged

Are you using "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear data like the browsing history?

You can check the startup setting:

  • Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox starts":
"Show my windows and tabs from last time"
    "Show my home page"
    "Show a blank page"

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js file in the profile folder that stores session data. When sessionstore.js is deleted you lose App Tabs and Tab Groups and open tabs and you will have to recreate them, so if necessary make a note or bookmark them.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
