I have the firefox video downloader on my desktop computer (XL operating system), which works fine. I installed the add-on on my laptop with Windows 7. Downloaded two video clips (about playing guitar) and when I went to open the folder containing the videos and other files of mine It told me Windows 7 Explorer had to restart. The other folders seemed to be OK. So I started the machine again and now every time I tried to open anything it was impossible because the Windows kept crashing. I could not even delete the folder with the two video clips. I did a virus check. No problem. Opened it in safemode. Still the same problem. I eventually managed to get it back to normal with system restore but the folder with the clips showed the same problem but this time I could delete the folder. Any ideas what might have happened please. The clips came from a perfectly bonafide guitar teaching site!

Best regards,

Anton

Dear Gert Van Waevelde,

Thanks for replying. First of all I deled the downloader application from my laptop thinking it might be causing the problem but as far as I remember I typed in downloader helper firefox (or similar words) and was directed to the firefox site from where I downloaded the add-on. I cannot imagine getting it from anywhere else. And the symbol that appeared in the browser was the same as the one I have on my browser on my desktop computer (version 5.4.2).

The site’s url is : http://www.jimmydillon.com/#!blues/c1owv and the clips I downloaded were “Acoustic Jump Blues in G” and “Rockabilly Blues in A”

Best regards,

Anton

Hello,

I don't really understand what the problem might have been. I guess there was something wrong with the downloaded files or some problem during the download.

I'm afraid I won't be able to help you.

Regards, Gert
