This has happened 3x over the past 2 months. While I am in FF, the screen suddenly goes blank. I get an error message saying "Your computer has restarted due to a problem." Right after the restart I received a message from FF saying, "Security and stability update for FF is available 45.0.1. Apply this update ASAP" I did the install. I believe this is a FF issue as I was in FF every time it happened. Have you seen this problem? Will the new update solve the issue? Thank you and best regards, skip

If there a problem with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed Firefox application to do a clean reinstall.

Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the Disk Image file to the desktop

Your personal data like bookmarks is stored in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose personal data when you uninstall and reinstall or update Firefox, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

Is this a known problem with FF? Or are you just guessing at the answer?

This issue happens infrequently so I can't tell if you suggestion works. I have also referred the issue to Apple who have captured files and will examine them. I need to know if this issue is just related to FF.

Thank you
