how can I make the inbox remain open when I send a message?

more options

When I write a message, it is in a window sitting in front of the inbox. When I send the message, the screen reverts to my wallpaper and to get the inbox back I have to click on the Thunderbird icon. How can I stop that, so that the inbox remains on the screen? I use a Mac. This problem started when I updated to the latest operating system for Mac.

Very odd behaviour. How are you sending the message -- are you clicking the 'send' button on the compose window or are you using a keyboard shortcut? (I don't have a Mac so I can't be much help to you, I'm just trying to help you work out what's going wrong.)
