Sorry that happened to you. Sync wasn't intended to be turned on and then off, only to be turned on months later.

For now Disconnect from Sync and then Restore a Bookmarks Backup from the before you turned Sync back on. And before you reconnect to Sync reset your Firefox Account / Sync Password to flush the old, corrupt data from the Sync server.

For now Disconnect from Sync and then Restore a Bookmarks Backup from the before you turned Sync back on. And before you reconnect to Sync reset your Firefox Account / Sync Password to flush the old, corrupt data from the Sync server.
