I am trying to have my gmail account verified to use on my laptop. I get as far as putting all the details in (correctly) and then when I click "done" and it goes to verify my account the page hangs (nothing can be clicked on) I have noticed that thunderbird has put a capital letter at the beginning of my username (email address) so the login box displays the incorrect username and this is also in the address bar for the window (it also shows capitalised username). Clicking on the "NEXT" button does nothing which I'm guessing it wouldn't due to the username does not exist (no capital letters allowed in email names). I have searched for any capitalisation options in thunderbird without success. Any advice?

Upgrade to version 52.1. It fixes this problem. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/52.1.0/releasenotes/
