Hello! I have received very helpful solutions and advice here and so once again I ask your help!

I previously had Verizon, and recently switched to Gmail. I am using POP. Everything is going swimmingly, but now I am thinking about some further tweaks. The way I have it set up, my messages ae being filtered into the subfolders on my Verizon account, which is fine, since that was the easiest to use at first. The problem is that when replying, of course, it is defaulting to my Verizon address as the from, and that address is no longer valid. It is just an extra step tp use the correct from address.

So, what I am thinking is moving all subfolders from the Verizon account to the Local folder, then deleting the Verizon accounts and that would just leave the Gmail account. One problem is that all filters would have to be adjusted as to where they send the messages, since the folders will no longer reside under Verizon, but under Local. Is there an add-on that lets me do a mass edit of the filters? and, the other concern is exactly how to move that many folders - I have quite a few - to the Local folder.

I apologize if this is a stupid question, and thank you for taking the time to read this and help me!

How capable are you working in the actual file system? Things move much easier there, but not if you are not in any way familiar with it.

Are your folders nested more than one deep?

Your filters are a bit if a concern. They are kept in a file in the account information for the account. I therefore must assume you have placed all of the filters in the gmail account. Is that right?

If you are using POP for gmail, you couple use the global inbox. This will cause the gmail account to "disappear" from the user interface and all mail to be delivered to the inbox on local folder. (In essence local folders looks like it becomes the account from where you are sitting.)

Hi Matt!

I am not an expert, but also not a novice. Probably leaning toward the more experienced side of the middle - knowing enough to be dangerous!

The filters have been replicated using an add-on so all accounts currently filter almost all incoming messages to the folders under the Verizon account. A couple do not get filtered and end up in the inbox for the Gmail account, but that is because there is no filter that would take care of them.

Interesting you mentioned the Global option. That is actually how the Verizon account was set up. I had two Verizon email addresses, but used the global option so that all messages went into the subfolders under the main address. The thing is, I was never quite sure how that worked. Is there a way to do that now - I currently have the two Verizon accounts, and then the Gmail account. The way it was before, I had the two Verizon accounts, but all mail was filtered into the subfolders under the main account. What I am trying to achieve is to have all messages go into the subfolders under the Local account. Am I making sense?

Oh, forgot - one folder has nested folders under it, but that is the only one.
