I updated to Firefox Quantum, now I can't make Firefox start page my home page. How???
I've updated to Firefox Quantum. Now when I open Firefox, it opens to new tab instead of Firefox Start Page, which is set as my home page. I've gone to options, and tried reset to default, but it it says that Firefox Start Page IS my home page, but It still opens to new tab. I can't even get the start page now. What to do?

Hi.
Go to the configurations page at about:config. You will see a list of parameters and a search bar at the top. In the search bar type browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.aboutHome.enabled
Click on it. You will see the column called value become false from true
And you have your old Home Page back. Please look at the attached image for clarification.

Hi, goto about:config and double click on this booleans (you can search for it there): browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.aboutHome.enabled to set it to false, this will restore your old home page.
Not sure, or rather, don;t know where to initiate this search. And no clue, booleans??

Well, I figured out, (duhh), where to search, but get a warning that I may void my warranty. Not sure whether or not to proceed.

Ignore that warning, it's to scare away people, apparently doing its job. ;)
AWESOME! Thanks a mil.!!!
Just to make sure, perhaps I should clarify that Rugwed's solution worked like a charm. Easy to do, and now when I start Firefox, it opens on the Start Page, that I was used to. Many thanks to him, Mkll, (and Moses). Thanks again, PsyMike

(If this isn't the appropriate place for this complaint, where should I post it?)
re. start page and "recommended by pocket."
Mozilla, WHY DO I HAVE TO DO THIS?!!! I'm really pissed off. You've usurped my home-page without asking. I had to waste about an hour on this issue, and still I haven't got rid of unwanted "new tab page."
WTF.
The click-button in settings no longer works: new tabs no longer go to our department's private URL. I'm constantly, constanly having to hit the homepage button for every new tab. (I get this "RECOMMENDED BY POCKET" garbage, and "TOP PAGES" which I have no interest in seeing, ever.)
You added this without asking permission. Jeeze, has Mozilla gone insane? Our shop has been considering moving en mass to other browsers. The boss has been using Opera, and keeps recommending that the rest of us abandon Firefox as a bad job. He makes a good point.
For me, Mozilla just crossed the line into online evil: I have to "opt out" of this "recommended by pocket." And worse, you've erected barriers against opt-out: the controls for geting rid of that and the "Start Page" aren't part of Settings? I have to track it down as if it's a bug! Eventually I find the Mozilla forum, discover that the control is buried inside about:config?
Really?
OK, how about something positive. In your new releases, PLEASE put a checkbox in Settings, next to homepage custom url, for START PAGE ON/OFF. Right where anyone could easily find it, without needing Help or google searches.
Please please please? I highly doubt that I'm the only one who has a problem with your removing our homepage-on-new-tabs, and your pushing "recommended by pocket" in our faces, against our will, without first asking permission, and while putting up barriers for "opting out" of this unrequested feature.
(The above concerns Firefox 57.0.2 on desktop at work, on Windows PC.)

See Rugwed's solution above in (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1185347?fpa=1 Worked like a charm! Afterwards, I ended up changing my home page back to New Tab anyway. That was simple. Just the normal home page selection worked. PsyMike
