Like others who have posted, I really DISLIKE Firefox 57. The previous version (56.0.2) was just fine. Finally got it to do everything I want. Customizing 57 doesn't do the trick. Lost many extensions. Saw a warning message in another post on this site that says if we don't install FF 57, we won't get security updates. There must be another way to get these updates as I do not plan to use FF 57 and have set controls so that it is not automatically updated. Please, Mozilla, go back to the drawing board and don't make such radical changes for next version. Might as well switch to Chrome, although I do not like the inability to customize.

How about looking at these 2 URL's first : https://www.howtogeek.com/333110/how-to-customize-firefox-quantum-and-remove-the-white-space-around-the-title-bar/ and The name is not descriptive enough : https://www.howtogeek.com/332449/whats-new-in-firefox-quantum/

More information will come out slowly. New extensions are being made and some older ones being updated that can track here : http://bit.ly/2j0Anlj

Going back : unfortunately 56.0.2 is no longer safe to use for every day use, but 52.5.0 ESR is! It will continue to get security updates until May 2018, and you can download and install it from this page: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be deleted or removed in any version update after May 2018.

You should make a backup of your Profile before going back and just because: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I hate 57. Why must everything look like a Smart Phone screen. Some of us actually compute and do research on computers and not just scan facebook.

Is there a program or method that can make 57 look like 56.0.2

I am not going to update Firefox beyond 56.0.2 unless and until a version of the new tech is released that can be customized to have the same functionality. I work in 56 everyday and need the capabilities it has been customized to by me. In 57 I lost almost all of my addons, not to mention that the menu provided is pitifully inadequate and CAN'T EVEN BE ALTERED TO INCLUDE such things as email link and history (the drag and drop customize feature simply doesn't work).

To top it off, I have to revert to 56 every day as you simply don't have the decency to provide a patch to 56.0.2 which will prevent this. Telling me that 56 "is no longer safe to use for every day use" is just insolent. ESR is not compatible with addons I use every day. Find a way out of the mess you've forced on us or lose a massive number of users.
