In linking Thunderbird and Gmail, I only want Thunderbird messages imported to Gmail and not have Gmail go to Thunderbird. How to achieve this?

How do I stop receiving gmail messages on Thunderbird? I only want Thunderbird messages imported to the gmail account - not both ways. Also - everything is going into the archived file. How to correct this?

You need to find another solution to what you want to do. IMAP mail (the only way I am aware of that allows you to put messages into gmail) is a mail synchronization protocol. Not an upload protocol. I am not aware of a dedicated mail upload protocol. Perhaps Google will develop something.

Next gmails all mail folder is also it's archive folder. Everything in the account goes there. No options are made available by Google.

Thank you. I used to have the mail only going in one direction. Thunderbird to Gmail. I had an issue - fixed it - only to have the mail now going in both directions. Guess it is what it is now.
