I saw: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/password-manager-remember-delete-change-tb - re "Saved Logins. The following logins match your search:" However there is nothing there. I had changed the linked Gmail account login but Thunderbird would accept neither the old nor the new password. Nor it seems would it let me enter a new one. Help please!

Change the authentication on the incoming and outgoing to OAuth2 in Tools/Account Settings: Server Settings and Outgoing Server (SMTP). Cookies must be allowed in TB Options/Privacy & Security. Remove the passwords from Saved Passwords in Options/Privacy & Security, restart TB, enter the account password in the OAuth browser window when prompted.

Is the authentication method on the incoming and outgoing servers 'normal password' or OAuth2 (recommended)? Tools/Account Settings, Server Settings and Outgoing Server (SMTP).

Thanks for responding. I apologize for saying you hadn't solved the problem. The answer to your question I now see is SMTP, and the authentication method: Normal password. I tried the old and new GMail passwords but they failed. The User Name is: [REMOVED BY MODERATOR]@gmail.com

I should have mentioned that all my Thunderbird mail goes through GMail.
