Moved folder from POP account to local folder lost all content
Howdy, I have a number of folders under my POP email account folder. I moved a couple of them to the local folder using drag and drop. It seemed to be going OK but when I went to double check the content, all the messages where gone. I could not find them in trash nor were they in the "from" or "destination" folder. The only things that were saved were the folders and subfolders.
This seemed like a simple move operation but it has gone very wrong. Any ideas why?
I have backups. Can someone point me to the procedure to recover specific folders in email?
I have been trying to search for a solution but have not been successful in even finding this issue.
This is on a Win10 PC running 115.7.0 (64-bit) version of Tbird.
Thanks!

Update. I have successfully recovered my lost emails from backup to their original location.
However I still do not understand why a folder move from my POP email account folder to my "local Folder" deleted all my messages. I would still like to know if I did this wrong and what the correct way is to move a folder out of a POP email account folder to a local folder.
Thanks for your help!
Did you drag and drop folders or drag and drop messages, from the source folder to the target folder?
Folders
Try it with messages and report on the result.
Tried it with 3 messages. They were deleted. Tried to do an undo move messages but the messages were not restored to the original directory.
I've moved a folder by drag and drop from one subfolder of Local Folders to another without losing anything, so I don't know why it isn't working for you. Do you have the profile folder in the default location on the C drive, or is there anything unconventional with your setup?
