The way New Tab works seems to have changed: The options are now "Firefox Home" or "blank page." Google is my home page and I want it to keep it as the New Tab default too. I've been looking on all the Mozilla help topics related to this, and they don't make sense to me. Please tell me how to do this. Thank you.

You can only set the home page freely via "Settings -> Home", for the new tab page you need an extension if you do not want to use the Firefox Home page or a blank page. This isn't a recent change.
