Sometimes, when I delete one email from the inbox, the inbox shows "no message found", even though there are still other emails in the inbox. The remaining emails are still in the inbox, they just don't show. If I right click on inbox in the left panel, and select "open in new tab", the remaining emails show in the new tab, just not in the main inbox. If I close out thunderbird and start it again, the emails show in the main inbox. The problem occurs occasionally, whether I select delete from the menu bar, hit the delete key, or right click on the entry and select the trash can icon.

This problem started maybe 10 or more updates ago. For each new update I think "surely it will be fixed this time".

I have included a partial screenshot of what it looks like after the problem occurs.

This problem is different than any other questions I have found in the search. It purely a visual presentation error, not disastrous, just highly annoying. Any solutions will be greatly appreciated.

New update this morning. Same problem on the first delete. Is anyone working on this or am I posting in the wrong place?

Two or three updates later, and still same problem. Very annoying. Doesn't anyone else have this problem?

You don't seem to have tried reindexing the folder: right-click on it, choose Properties, then click Repair Folder.

I don't get a repair folder option. If I right click the inbox and select properties, all I get is a window titled "Edit Saved Search Properties for Inbox".

And this last update is even worse the the previous one. I get this problem at least once a day. ( And I am trying to keep the whining to a minimum.)

You're using Unified Folders and have right-clicked on the unified Inbox. You have to expand the unified Inbox and right-click on the specific Inbox of the account that has the problem.

This is a relatively common problem in Thunderbird, usually caused by people keeping lots of mail in a folder that has a lot of traffic such as Inbox. Regardless of whether you like a version more than another for whatever reason, this problem can only get worse with every version for the simple reason that, once it appears, it can only get worse with time until you fix it…

Okay, thanks. I clicked the repair folder three times for every item under inbox and never had any indication that it did anything, but here's crossing my fingers. I never expand the inbox normally. I don't want to have to open up every folder to see what I have.
