If I change my password for one of my bookmarks I no longer get a prompt to remember the new password, but it still remembers my other bookmarks passwords. What's up?

I needed to change the password for one of my bookmarks, when I substituted the new password in the appropriate place I didn't receive a prompt for remembering the new password. I then deleted the old password from saved password in the security tab in preferences and still no prompt. Where do I turn on the prompt which I'm guessing has been inadvertently turned off?

  • Make sure that you not run Firefox in Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode
  • In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and features like visited links are disabled and not showing
  • You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing", possibly grayed
