I maintain a Cognos website. Firefox 3.6.11 and 3.6.12 won't allow users to login. They enter a username and password, then the values they enter disappear and nothing else happens.

Older versions of Firefox worked correctly. This affects users using Mac OSX, Linux and XP. When an incorrect userid or password are entered, the correct error message appears. No visible changes occur when a valid username and password are entered--the page appears with no error message, and blank user and password fields.

As far as I can tell, Cognos 8.4 only seems to work with FireFox up to version 3.5 and no higher. We've tried 3.6.12 as well as the previously verion 3.5.15 (also listed on the download site). Neither one seem to allow users to get past the logon screen.

However; downgrading to FireFox 3.5 resolved the problem for allowing users getting into the system.

Here are the links I used to download FireFox 3.5: Windows: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.5&os=win&lang=en-US

MAC: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.5&os=osx&lang=en-US

Cognos 10 may support higher versions

Just wanted to update my last post. Update 3.6.13 seems to work.
