Location of Temp Files
When I open a PDF it is stored in Users/user-id/AppData/Local/Temp. I want to change this location to be on an encrypted drive since some PDF's have sensitive data. What setting will accomplish this?

In Tools|Options|General you will find two radio buttons in the downloads section(don't worry about the check box).
Select the first button if you want to save all of your downloads in one location. The <Browse> button to the right will let you pick the location.
If you don't want all of your downloads going to one location, select the second radio button. This will make FF ask you where do you want to save the file. It will ask the question for each and every download. A browser panel will open to let you navigate to the location where you want to save the file.
I have that set to ask me (the second button) but when I link to a PDF it doesn't ask, it just goes to the location I originally posted
You can move the temp location to that drive to prevent it from happening. This will however be used for all access to the temp folder.
Control Panel > System > Advanced > Environment Variables (TMP and TEMP)
you can also:
1. Go to Tools|Options|Applications
2. In the applications list you should find four entries that concern Adobe documents.
3. Go to right-hand side of the adobe line and click on the action. A button will appear with a downward pointing triangle.
4. In the drop down list click on "Always ask."
5. Do steps 1 - 3 for the other Adobe items.
6. Click the <OK> button at the bottom of the panel.
Try and download a pdf file and see if FF asks you where you want to put it.
