In normal mode, when i press on the firefox button or any other option like File, Help, the drop-down won't appear but with correct guessing, you can press the option you want. It is just that nothing appears. Tried disabling addons but nothing works.

In normal mode, I can't do anything except left-clicking links and middle-clicking link. Whenever I try to right click on something, press the firefox button or press the buttons like File, Edit, View, etc the menu does not seems to appear visually. However, if you are familiar with firefox(you know that if you press the firefox button and Private Browsing is positioned on the second row) when you click that area, Private Browsing will be chosen. Basically, the menu is there but you just can't see it. This, on the other hand, does not happen in safe mode. I tried restarting firefox with addons disabled by going to Help>Restart with add-on disabled>check all the 5 boxes>Make Changes and Restart but useless.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration. Check if there is an update available for your graphics display card driver.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)
