I cannot use google toolbar with the new version of firefox due to compatibility problems. I cannot wait for longer (there's more thsn a week now) so I want to know how to come back to the previous version, or if I had to unistall firefox or reinstall an older version

Better to stick with current version of Firefox.

Firefox 4 is end of life, it is not supported.

Unfortunately it has consequences of not being able to use Microsoft product email applications properly. As seen in a newsgroup without a reference a Google document. Which might explain why they are working on an Internet Explorer solution first.
