How can I move Firefox settings from Win XP to Ubuntu?
I am transitioning from Win XP to a new Ubuntu Linux OS (10.10 or higher). Firefox help pages only give information about backup/restore settings within a single OS. I want to transfer all of the settings, extensions, preferences, bookmarks, everything that I have built up over the years on the Win XP version to the Firefox I'll be running on Ubuntu.
Can I use Firefox Sync to do this? If so, how? If not, what do I need to do?
I'm comfortable using a Linux command line and poking around in Win XP's hidden files. I know where the Firefox data lives on both Win XP and on Ubuntu Linux. I just need to know how to transfer that data into Linux-readable data.

It is not recommended to transfer a full profile folder from one OS to another OS because some files contain absolute paths to files.

I already know that. I'm primarily wanting to know if Firefox Sync or some other tool can do the job.
You can look at FEBE (Win,Linux).
- FEBE (Firefox Extension Backup Extension): https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/febe/
Please do not give me random suggestions. There is no documentation on the FEBE page.
I am looking for help from someone familiar with LINUX and its peculiarities, as well as with WinXP.
My question regarding Firefox Sync remains unanswered.
