Unable to connect to internet
I went through the firewall settings and deleted the older version and enabled the new and saved. Still no connection. My internet provider is Charter Communications. Explorer works fine, outlook works fine. Everything else seems to connect to the internet. I went through this drill as instructed on your website around five times, no good! I have now uninstalled Firefox because I was unable to reset explorer for my default browser.

Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall.
Let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Even turning the firewall off, it will still not conect to the internet.
Check the connection settings.

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then select "No Proxy" if the default "Use the system proxy settings" setting doesn't work.
See "Firefox connection settings":
