Hi, I am trying to switch over from Chrome to Firefox and cannot get the Gmail Desktop notifications to work reliably. I have it set to notify for all messages in Gmail and i have gone through the process of enabling desktop notifications but only some pop ups appear.

Also, if i get it to work as expected, is there a way to modify the duration of the pop ups or should i just use the Gmail Notifier extension to achieve this?

Have you figured out a pattern to which emails don't show up? I assume you know that the setting in Gmail lets you choose between showing notifications for all email or just important ones and that you set that according to your preference. I've been testing the notifications from Gmail for many months and it's been working fine for me. More information would be useful to troubleshoot.

RE: the duration. It's not currently configurable but it's a known issue (bug 875114)

Thanks for the reply. I had it set to notify for all mail.

I will keep an eye on it and see if there is a pattern of which ones it notifies and which ones are missing.
