Hello!

About a month or two months ago I started having this awkward thing going on: I have my Thunderbird always open on my PC and I get notifications that new mail has arrived from Hotmail (NOT from my other e-mail provider, which is Gmail). BUT; when I check the new messages, I see that they are 14 days old and that I have already gotten them, and read them.

I get my current mail without any problems.

What is the solution here? Is this a Thunderbird problem or a Hotmail problem?

For that account, try setting this in about:config (from Options > Advanced > General > Config Editor):

  • mail.server.server<#>.downloadUnreadOnly -> true

You can find the number for the server by looking in Help > Troubleshooting Information.
