I want to reset keyword.url in about:config -- but it doesn't exist
I want search in the Location Bar to always use my favorite search engine (duckduckgo) -- instead of whatever I last used in the Search bar. Firefox Help says I can change the "keyword.url" pref in "about:config". But there is no "keyword.url" pref in my "about:config".
OS X 10.9.4, Firefox 30.0

hello, the keyword.url preference was removed from firefox a few versions back. you'd need this addon for the value to still have any effect: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/keywordurl-hack/
(if the entry isn't present per default, right-click somewhere in about:config and create a new string preference)

Just what I need - Thanks
Current Firefox versions use the default search engine that is selected in the search bar also for searching via the location/address bar and for searching on the about:home page.
Another possibility is to use the Keyword Search extension to specify which search engine to use for searching via the location/address bar.
