In only one of my mail accounts I have set the message column to show the date. But it doesn't. Under the Date header it only shows the time of day. I'd prefer to have the calendar date shown. What's gone wrong?

By default Thunderbird shows the time only for today's messages. The date will be appended to them at midnight.

That's a fat lot of good when messages come overnight and all you get is the time they were downloaded. I like/need to know what day they were sent. Can it be changed to show the date from the time of receipt?

Mine shows the time received by my providers server and not the downloaded time.
