I've tried the solutions online--view--message body as--original HTML, and checking "display attachments inline".

The body text DOES show if I click view--message source. The correct body text shows on my Yahoo server as well.

Why? Help! New to Thunderbird, but this might be a deal breaker.

I do not believe Thunderbird will open a PDF. You will need to open the attachment with a PDF reader.

I can read the pdf attachment just fine in Adobe. I'm talking about the body text of the email which isn't visible. All other emails without attachments have no problem.
