Are these attachments or are they embedded? There is a setting preventing remote content for embedded content.

What is that setting?

If I leave the setting to View as Original, it appears to be embedded. But if I change it to Show All body Parts, it appears to be attachments.

In about:config (access from Preferences/Options > Advanced > General > Config Editor), this is the setting: mailnews.message_display.disable_remote_image Set to false if you want embedded remote images. I would use attachments, myself. Why that setting is not in the graphical interface is a puzzle to me. With SeaMonkey, it is right in the Preferences.
