The "solutions" to updating Flash Player appear to go back to 2015. Any updates? Still a problem!

I am getting a prompt to get the plug-in for Flash Player. When I go to update Adobe Flash Player it indicates that I have the most recent update, but it doesn't appear that I do. I am in a loop and can't get out of it when I try to update. The "solutions" that I see on Mozilla Support appear to go back to 2015. Has the problem been fixed. If so, why can I not get the most recent version of Adobe Flash Player to install? Thanks for any help you can provide.

The real "problem" is that Adobe keeps releasing updates for the Flash Player - like a dozen new versions in the last 8 or 9 months, extending well back into 2014. Flash has its own internal updater, but the updates don't seem to occur (I see this on 4 Windows PC's' that I am responsible for maintaining) automatically when the device is run in a "regular user account" or only updates automatically in an Admin "user account". And a user-triggered manual update isn't present in Flash; the only "choice" in Flash is to "check monthly", which these days just doesn't make sense when Flash updates are released more frequently than that.

iirc, previous to mid-2014 Adobe Flash rarely updated, and may have gone an entire year without releasing any new versions with security patches in the years 2011 - 2013.

Plus things might seem a lot worse now since Mozilla created that Plugin Check page / system to notify users when their Plugins are out-of-date and might be posing a security risk. And the information provided there "leaves a bit to be desired" for the average user (my feeling is that it mis-informs the less sophisticated users by indicating that Mozilla is involved in the update procedure for Flash and other plugins - not just merely providing information about how to proceed.)

My advice is to use this page for getting Flash "updates". https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html Download the full EXE Installer for Windows > Plugin-based browsers - close Firefox then run the Flash installer.
