i see that when i log into an account with a user name and password that the option to save pops up which i click on yes but how do i actually use the password manager to log back into accounts - or is this just a system to remember passwords and does not actually enter the information in the log in page?

The Firefox Password Manager securely stores the usernames and passwords you use to access websites and then automatically fills them in for you the next time you visit. This article will show you how to use the Password Manager to remember, view, delete and protect your passwords.

You can easily manage the usernames and passwords that Firefox has saved for you.

1.At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options. At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Tools menu and then select Options. On the menu bar, click on the Firefox menu and select Preferences....At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Edit menu and select Preferences. 2.Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Options.Preferences. 3.Click the Security panel. 4.Click Saved Passwords and the Password Manager will open.

  • To see the passwords you have saved, click Show Passwords. When you close the window, your passwords will be automatically hidden.
  • Use the search box to find a particular website or username. Click the X in the search bar to clear your search and see the full list again.
  • To remove a username and password, select it from the list and click Remove.
  • To remove all stored usernames and passwords, click Remove All. After confirming this choice, all of your stored usernames and passwords will be deleted.

I have this problem, too. Please be more explicit in the answer.

Hi DavidT8

Could you please start a new thread for your question?

Then you can provide more information like your operating system and installed extensions and installed plugins.

If Firefox has offered to store the password in the Password Manager then Firefox would normally fill the name automatically or show an autocomplete list when you start typing the name.

  • Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Remember passwords for sites" and "Saved Passwords"

Let me try it before posting a new thread.
