I need help to reset all features, some how all buttons, disappeared!?!

When I open the contact book I can only see all contacts, I can open and edit existing, create new a contact and e-mail as normal. But the contact book have not a single feature as it should have!?

I have tried to re:install Thunderbird but still no features to use in the contact book.

Are you saying you miss address-books toolbar and menu-bar? Thats easy fixed, just click on alt and a temp menu-bar should open. In view select to view what you want.
