Okay, I'll call it AB for Awesome Bar (the URL bar or location bar).

If you arrow down through many (and I can have lots; I increased the 12 with add-on "Change Max Rows of Autocomplete In URL Bar 1.4.1"), it seems that, to return to the top of the autocomplete suggestion list, you either have to grab mouse for the scrollbar, or carefully only arrow as far as needed then stop. Unless I'm missing an existing key, how about Control-up to jump to the top?

Right now if focus is in the AB, both Control-up and Control-Home go to the beginning of whatever string is in the typing area. I suggest Control-Up be reassigned go to the top of the list of suggested autocomplete URLs, or permit this via about:config.

By the way, I believe that currently https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly (a fine document) does not speak of existing Control-up/down arrow or Control-home/end functionality when focus is in the AB.

I'm really not a princess. I just work really fast and Fx's fantastic keyboard shortcuts are key to my high productivity (Microsoft must HATE your interface designers, because they enhance productivity rather than impede it). E.g.: You have 30 (or just 12) autocomplete suggestions, and you need to go back to the top (possibly to revise the partial URL) because you didn't find the URL you wanted. You would like to not have to stop and grab the mouse. Maybe you try leaning on the up-arrow key; but it wraps around at the top (and down-arrow wraps from the bottom). So you have to watch and stop when you get close. You have to hone the skill of not overshooting which happens very often. (Same problem with leaning on page-up, it wraps too.)

The solution I think is a shortcut key to jump to the top (and might as well have one for bottom too, for symmetry). (Another thought: have a configuration choice to change the wrap around behavior. That's a weaker solution, because the shortcut key would give best of both worlds.)

Sorry, I don't use that extension so I may not be much help.

Does the hitting Home key keep force the focus to the top of the drop-down? Or does it select the hi-lighted line in the drop-down and close the drop-down? [default action]

The download page for Change Max Rows of Autocomplete In URL Bar 1.4.1 shows this - https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en&fromgroups#!forum/backy-software-support - as the "Support site" for that extension. You could try posting there and see if the developer responds, but there isn't any content there that I can read (I don't have an Asian language support fonts in Windows - can't read the languages so there's no point in installing it)

Disregard the extension. It was only peripheral information, not the question that was asked. It was only indicated in order to illustrate that, when it's present, one may have to use up-arrow many many times to get to the top, as opposed to the maximum of 12.

Home key does not do what's desired, as you've seen, so I don't know where you're going with that. If you are suggesting reassigning from its default action to go to the top of suggestions, that might be worth a discussion.
