thanks so much for the help... Not necessary to recover files from beyond 14 days..just want to make sure more files don't disappear at 14 day mark. For instance...right now oldest file in my inbox is from 1/5/2016...tomorrow it will be 1/6/2016...etc... Doesn't seem to be anything in 'quarantine' folders.
Can I simply fix the inbox to retain all emails ?
I'd probably look at the retention settings first. But that's all explained in the article. So take the time to go through all the steps suggested there.
Thank so much for the prompt response...I have gone thru the steps...I've never touched the retention settings. As I said, this just happened in the last week or so. It's been fine for years...I'm on Version 38.5.1

What is your account type - POP or IMAP? If IMAP, make sure to also check any retention settings on the server. Perhaps your email provider has changed something.
Again, thanks so much for working with me on this...Account type - IMAP. I have already checked with GoDaddy and they confirmed server settings set to default(do not delete). If it was something like that..wouldn't all emails be gone ? Or at least not keeping the last 14 days ?
Is there anything else you could possibly suggest I try ?
yes ask godaddy is they have a setting that automatically ages mail and removes it after 14 days. IMAP accounts do exactly what the server says for retention. You are not asking godaddy for account settings. You are asking them for any enforced retention policy and how to opt out of it.
thanks so much for offering to help. I did ask GoDaddy exactly that and they confirmed server settings set to default(do not delete) ...The email 14 day retention just started in the last week or so after being fine for years... I'm willing to try anything.
