I have been able to print individual email messages but suddenly I cannot do so anymore. I use a mac with El Capitan 10.11.4 (recently updated from Yosemite a few days ago), Thunderbird version 38.7.2.

My printer is hard wired & not on wi-fi if that makes a difference - although I can print other items from a website or a document but not an email message.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

Is the printer listed in the Thunderbird 'print' dialogue and have you selected it? Is the page size etc. correct in the Thunderbird 'page setup' dialogue? Have you tried printing via the 'print preview' dialogue? Do you get any error message when you try to print or does the printer simply not respond?

I open the email message, click on File/Print but nothing happens - no dialogue pops up, no response at all. But a "printer dialogue" appears when I want to print a webpage, a microsoft type doc or an imac type item... yet nothing while in Thunderbird.

After responding, and suddenly without rhyme or reason, I now have the "print dialogue" option & everything is working as normal. Thank you for your questions to me & I will keep an eye out for all those things should it happen again.
