I'm running T-Bird ver 45.1.0. Recently I'm unable to send email unless I disable or remove Check and Send.

If I disable Check and Send, outgoing emails are sent fine. All configuration settings have been checked and rechecked by me and a tech support from Cox and are correct. Anyone else experience this? The problem has developed in the last 24 hours.

Sounds like check and send it not compatible with the current version of Thunderbird.

i.e. you need to inform the author of that addon, and await a fix.

Thing is, the Thunderbird upgrade to 45.1.0 happened more than a week ago, but the outgoing mail problem just started a couple days ago.

Update: Turned out to be a compatibility problem indeed, as Matt suggested. Although it is puzzling that it didn't present earlier, given that the upgrade to TB ver 45.1.0 occurred automatically on 5-16-16.

Anyway, I found a terrific solution in the Mozilla "Reviews" of Check and Send posted by Mark Smith on April 27, 2016.

In Thunderbird, I went to Tools/Options/Advanced/Config Editor. In the Config Editor, I changed the setting for "dom.compartment_per_addon" to "false", instead of the default "true".

This worked for me, so I'm reposting it here. A big thanks to Mark Smith! Hopefully the author of this great add-on, H.Ogi, will eventually do an update. I think the last one was in 2013. I'm also going to try contacting H.Ogi directly.
