I have some problems in opening files trough the browser: I have made a html-document linking to different files on the hard-disk like doc, odt, xls and so on. Now when i'm opening the document trough the html-document the first time (with a new-installed firefox) there's no problem in opening the documents. If i close firefox and make the same procedure again the files then are downloaded and are becomming 'read-only' when they are open.

Please help anybody to resolve this issue - don't know where the bug is??

Hello there,

Clearing your browsers cookies and cache can help remove excess data that could be causing Firefox to behave strangely .

You can try and clear the cache/cookies by doing the following:

1. Click the menu button and choose “History” 2. Then click “Clear Recent History” 3. Clear everything and tick all the boxes before clicking on “Clear Now”

Finally, relaunch your browser and see if the issue still persists.

If the above doesn't work then i would suggest a clean reinstall of Firefox

Hope this helps!

If im clearing the history it helps the first time (again) - after closing down the browser it re-appears the next time i use firefox. I have tried a reinstallation also - same problem... :(
