I use Firefox on my Mac. When I use the google web search bar it sends me to a blank page. This doesn't happen when I try the same search using Safari

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?

Is the Google web search bar one of the built-in Firefox bars or something different? More specifically:

When you first install Firefox, Firefox offers four places to search the web: (A) the address bar (where the address of the web page usually appears); and (B) a shorter search bar to the right of the address bar (a panel drops down as you type showing different search engines you can use); and (C) a search box in Firefox's built-in home page; and (D) a search box in Firefox's built-in new tab page.

Is it one of those (which one)? If it's something else, is it an additional toolbar in Firefox's toolbar area, or something on your Mac that is outside Firefox?
