How can I put a password in Thunderbird?
I was forced to change password of one of my accounts and can find no way to enter the new password in thunderbird. I even deleted the account and created a new account in the program, putting the new password in at that time. Didn't work and can not find where to change the password.

Options is under Tools if you use the Menu Bar. Hidden Menu Bars are revealed by pressing the alt key.
If you use the AppMenu button Options is a choice on the main menu and not under Tools.

Go to Tools|Options|Security|Passwords>Saved Passwords.
There you can double-click or right click a password and edit it. But I don't understand why your somewhat desperate measure of tearing down and reinstalling this account didn't work.
There is no "Tools" available in the task bar. I found a "tools" under the menu icon on the right side of the task bar but no "options" available there. This all started when I tried to log in via a browser on another computer. They then forced me to change the password. That password works when I log in via the internet but after deleting and reinstalling that email address on my desk computer in Thunderbird it no longer works.

Now works. Thanks for the help from both of you.
