I changed from Windows Live mail to Thunderbird and exported my contacts to Thunderbird. I was not able to send emails and learned that the email information downloaded to the Nickname area and the email area is blank. If I type the email address where the email address should be, I can send emails. How can I fix this without retyping 480 emails to the correct area. I tried to delete the Nickname area in the hope that the email address would take its place, but I have not been successful. Thank you. Jim

If you still have the csv file that was exported from WLM, you can edit in a spreadsheet so it's easier to import to TB. Or, export the contacts as vCards and import them with the help of an add-on. The latter method will place the First and Last (names) and the Email in the correct location in Address Book, making address autocomplete functional.
