Hi,

Over the years, I have accumulated various email accounts (both business and personal) and many of which are still relevant today (the rest get deleted).

The problem I have is that I am not able to reorder the accounts in the left hand pane on the emails page into an 'order of relevance', with accounts that are currently busy at the top and currently lesser used addresses towards the top (the default one remaining at the head of the pile as always).

Is this possible? And am I missing an obvious setting?

Thanks, in advance, for all and any replies.

No, it is not obvious.

The safest approach, IMHO, is to use this add-on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/manually-sort-folders/

Despite the limitation implied by its name, it does re-order accounts too.

It is theoretically possible to do it without an add-on by editing a settings file directly, but that is not something I'd be confident doing for myself, let alone advising someone else how to do it.

Thanks for your reply: the add-on does exactly what I needed. Thanks again.

WHY would something so simple and obvious be left out of the design for Thunderbird??? If the program is supposedly designed to accommodate MULTIPLE email accounts, would it never occur to the developer that we may need to be able to SORT OR RE-ORDER the accounts in some way??? Geeez.....
