I have AVAST running on my computer in passive mode; I simply have not bothered to remove it, fearing screwing something up. Now, AVAST has stripped all my saved passwords from FIREFOX. Can I load these back into Firefox from my renegade AVAST?

If AVAST removed your data, you should ask their support for help. We will also try helping you.

Look on your desktop. Do you see a folder called; Old Firefox?
