Why do I have a little 'lock' icon next to the three new email addresses I have just added to my T-Bird Program and how do I delete them?

I have been using T-Bird for several months with no problem but recently I added three new email addresses and for some reason my program shows a tiny little 'lock' icon next to the new addresses and then when I try to open up the folders sometimes they show nothing where there should be messages. Eventually, though, the folders DO show old messages... What the heck are the locks for, how do I use them or how do I delete them?

The locks are there to advise you that these new accounts use a secured connection where your communications are encrypted.

You can't and shouldn't try to remove these locks.
