Hello, earlier today I was browsing Firefox extensions and add ons. I came across a couple that I wasn't able to download as my "platform" doesn't allow it? Ive been using Firefox beta although I'm using my Android. I find that Firefox for Android through Google play is very limited. I've never had an issue like today when I tried adding those extensions, which were the Facebook ext to where they can't stick their nose in everything you do (I despise Facebook) The other ones were YouTube enhancement extensions.

I did download the Firefox for Android app and I went to their extension and add on page. They're very limited, and kind of crappy (sorry) compared to the Firefox beta ones. And of course everything I tried to open got jammed up thanks to google and their brilliant phone apps (sorry again ). Now somehow my default browser is Add this video (a brilliant android add on that somehow got stuck on when the page was going ballistic on the app page) and my home screen comes up as a blank page as this add on doesn't fit the criteria of a browser (you think?) I've been going to settings to try to fix it and it's all screwed up. Sorry for this long diatribe.

So, in short, I'd like to keep Firefox beta as my browser. As far as my platform being an issue on not being able to download those extensions is it because I'm using my Android and everything has to be downloaded with Google play? That's sort of messed up if that's the issue if you know what I mean.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. Rock On Mozilla!

Please be more specific.

What are you talking about?

I'm using my Android and everything has to be downloaded with Google play?

Extensions for Firefox can be installed via AMO. https://addons.mozilla.org/android/

This hasn't changed for ages.

That's sort of messed up if that's the issue if you know what I mean.

No idea what you're talking about.
