The "Write" pane in Thunderbird will not open properly. It open in the taskbar a an icon, but will not open to a full screen. It was just installed on Windows 10. Everything worked properly in Windows 7. I tried using compatibility mode for Windows 7 and Windows 8. It still doesn't work. I have rebooted numerous times, and still no resolution to the problem.

Solution found: In the profile folder for Thunderbird found in the Roaming directory for the user affected , the xulstore.json file needs to be appended to something like xulstore.json_OLD, in order to deactivate it and keep it from running.
"The xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder stores information about toolbars, window positioning, and other interface elements in Firefox 34 and above (the localstore.rdf file was used in previous versions). If changes to toolbars and window sizes are not saved, toolbar icons are missing, or if there are strange problems with the browser interface, resetting this file can help.
Using the Refresh Firefox feature will reset the xulstore or localstore file to its default settings but this will remove other user customizations such as extensions, themes, and modified preferences. You can also reset the file by removing it from the profile folder manually. "
