I read a lot about firefox sync, but not how it actually works.

I have two computers to sync. Both are connected to the same Firefox-account. What happens if one is set off and the other is running. On, of course on the running one, lets say, I add a bookmark. After a while I shut it down. What will happen with this bookmark since firefox-sync server is no backup? Will it kept there until synchronization has completed? Thus the other pc has been booted? What if both computers are running and on both different bookmarks are added?

Thanks

Kos

Personal data from all connected computers is uploaded to the Sync server, so if you make changes on one computer then these changes are uploaded to the Sync server. It doesn't matter if other connected devices aren't turn on at that time. Once you turn another device on then data stored on the Sync server is merged to that device, so eventually all devices will have the same data. That Sync isn't meant to be used as a backup is about when you would delete all data on one computer and you would want to use Sync to get back your data as stored on the Sync server. What happens in this case is not guaranteed.
